Telling Amy's Story

Hosted by actress and domestic violence advocate, Mariska Hargitay, and told by Detective Deirdre Fishel from the State College, Pennsylvania Police Department, Telling Amy's Story follows the timeline of a domestic violence homicide that occurred on November 8, 2001.  This engrossing program featuring the victim's parents and co-workers, law enforcement officers, and court personnel who share their perspectives on what happened to Amy in the years, months and weeks leading up to her death. A discussion at the end of the program with Hargitay and Sheryl Cates of the National Domestic Violence Hotline offers more insight, resources and ways to change the system to help victims of domestic violence before a tragedy happens.

While it is not possible to change the ending to Amy's story, it is hoped that it's telling can change the outcomes for the millions of victims, survivors, and loved ones affected by domestic violence every day.

The DVD includes the 57 minute Program along with a 17 Minute filmed discussion.
