FEAR: Rebecca's Story

Skillful use of still images and interviews creates an emotional and informative work based on personal narrative. Rebecca's Story provides viewers with tools necessary for coping; this isn't merely a rape recollection, it is an in-depth account of how sexual violence has forever changed the life of a woman and those she knows.

Commentary by Suzanne Brown-McBride, executive director of the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs, provides a counterbalance to Rebecca's testimony of rape at 14, re-victimization at 17, and fifteen years of recovery.

Private screenings with some of the most critical minds in the field at the 2004 National Conference on Sexual Violence Prevention revealed Rebecca's Story to be emotional, dramatic, current, and insightful. As a documentary of a personal narrative this piece stands out amongst a field of academic work, drawing in viewers in a way no re-enactment or scripted production can.

F.E.A.R. has toured nationally with the Amnesty International Film Festival.
