Teen girls talk about the realities and consequences of relationship sex.
This new, evidenced-based, high-impact, documentary-style program features teen girls whose sexual experiences range from virginity to teen motherhood. It provides the audience a very personal view of the complexities of sex in their lives and the issues they face around relationships, sex, dating and the influence of friends and the media on their sexual choices.
The program deals with the tactics their peers use to encourage sexual activity, the many reasons why girls choose to have sex even though they are not ready, the emotional and physical consequences of that choice, why girls are not practicing safe sex, and how to protect their bodies, minds and hearts. The young women explore how to decide the "right" time to have sex, and who the "right" person with whom to share that privileged experience should be. And finally, they emphatically tell the audience why waiting until you are ready emotionally to have sex is a positive choice.
This DVD is equally relevant and designed for boys. Boys will watch this and be stunned to learn what girls think about with regard to sex. They will have a new appreciation for how their requests and behaviors affect girls emotionally and physically. They will walk away from this information having had the opportunity to be more thoughtful and well-planned about their own choices around sex.
While viewing the program, there is also time after each section for discussion or written exercises prompted by poignant questions to help viewers with self-exploration and developing concrete steps to act upon.
